It seems that the common method of planning an outdoor security lighting system for most new homes involves the installation of a front and rear porch light. These lights are controlled by a switch just inside the front and back door and unless they are left on all night contribute absolutely nothing to the security of your home. Even if they are left on, they are of little deterrence since by the time they bring notice to an intruder, the intruder is already at your front door and just moments from entering your home.
